PEARL™
Pearl™ is a unique laser specifically designed to skin imperfections and signs aging, with minimal down-time compared to traditional laser resurfacing. The Pearl™ uses YSGG technology that produces a 2790 nm laser pulse, ideal for vaporizing the uppermost portion of the epidermis where the effects of sun-damage and aging are most apparent. The heat generated from the laser also affects the deeper layers of the dermis, contracting collagen fibers and stimulating new collagen growth to promote tighter, smoother skin.
Pearl™ is recommended for most skin concerns, including:
-Sun damage
-Fine wrinkles
-Dark spots and uneven coloration
-Uneven texture
-Mild acne scars
Pearl™ skin resurfacing is done comfortably in the office with use of topical anesthetic cream before treatment. Afterward, your skin is kept coated with a fine layer of ointment until the outer layer of skin is fully healed in about 3-5 days. Mild redness typically will resolve over 7 days. Compared to traditional CO2 laser resurfacing, which has 2 weeks of healing and over 1 month of redness, Pearl™ is the perfect solution for busy individuals who want to look their best without the down-time. Typically, 2 treatments spaced 6-8 weeks apart are recommended for best results.
PEARL FRACTIONAL™
Pearl Fractional™ is a new, fractional, single treatment laser designed to improve imperfections due to aging, acne and sun damage. Using the same YSGG 2790 nm laser used with the Pearl™, a highly powerful beam selectively creates thousands of tiny holes that penetrate into the deepest layers of the skin. The "ablative columns" (see diagram) conduct the energy and heat to these deep layers to promote tighter, more abundant collagen improving your skin's texture and appearance.

Although the Pearl Fractional™ is a much more powerful laser, comparable to that of the CO2 laser, it actually has a short healing time due to the small islands of intact skin surrounding the thousands of microscopic holes. This allows for more dramatic results and a healing time of about 1 week or less.

Pearl Fractional™ treatments take about 60-90 minutes and are also done in the office with the aid of topical numbing cream. Sometimes additional anesthetic or mild sedatives are recommended for optimal comfort since these treatments deliver much more energy to the skin's surface. Immediately after treatment, the skin appears red with mild to moderate swelling. Pinpoint bleeding is common and usually stops on the first day. The treated area is kept moist with ointment until the skin has fully healed (usually 1 week).
